Privacy Policy

Nearby Games
Effective date: October 16, 2026

This policy explains how Neurixm, LLC handles information when you use Nearby Games. The app lets people play board, card, word, and party games on one device or with other players over nearby connections or the internet.

Information stored on your device

Nearby Games does not require you to create an account. The app stores its generated or chosen display name, Player ID, friend list and invitation status, preferences, and ongoing-game information on your device. Game chat history may also be stored on the device for the relevant game. A private identity seed used to authenticate peers is stored locally; storage and backup behavior depend on the platform. The seed is not shared as a private key.

Ongoing games older than 72 hours are marked deleted and hidden. Deleted game records are permanently removed from the app after one week. You can remove friends and individual game records in the app. Uninstalling removes app-container data, but an identity key held in the operating system's credential store may remain. Changing or removing your Player ID can affect your ability to resume a multiplayer game.

Information shared with other players

When you discover, invite, or connect with another player, Nearby Games may share your Player ID, display name, connection information needed to establish and authenticate the session, and friend-request or game-invitation details. In a multiplayer game, game state and chat messages are sent to the participating players so the match can work. Use a display name that does not reveal information you want to keep private, and do not send sensitive information in game chat.

Nearby Games can connect over Bluetooth and local Wi-Fi, or through the internet relay. Direct peer traffic is delivered to the players' devices. The relay forwards connection and game traffic and stores certain friend-control or application-notification messages when needed for offline delivery. Those queued messages are deduplicated, expire after up to 72 hours, and are subject to a 100,000-message server limit; when full, the oldest queued messages are removed first. The relay does not serve as an archive of completed game histories.

Camera and notifications

The camera is used when you choose to scan a friend's Player ID QR code. Nearby Games does not use the camera to record or save photos or video. You can enter a Player ID manually instead.

If you allow notifications on iOS or Android, Firebase Cloud Messaging may provide a device token and language setting to the relay so it can send friend or game-invitation alerts. The operating system's notification permission controls whether alerts can be shown. Push messages are a notification channel; the app's relay or direct connection supplies the underlying friend or invitation state.

Diagnostics and optional analytics

The app uses Sentry to receive crash and technical diagnostic reports. These reports can include error details, stack traces, app version, operating-system and device information, and technical breadcrumbs. The app disables Sentry's default personal-information collection. In ordinary release use, Sentry screenshots are not attached. Debug screenshots can be captured only when explicitly enabled through the app's local debug API.

On iOS and Android, you can choose whether to enable Microsoft Clarity usage analytics in Settings. This setting is off by default and can be turned off again at any time. If enabled, Clarity may process app-usage and interaction information. The app also sends limited analytics events about game type and settings, match duration and outcome, and aggregate friend-connection counts. The app's custom analytics events do not include Player IDs, display names, chat messages, moves, or game state.

Service providers

Nearby Games uses service providers to operate the features described above. Their handling of information is governed by their own policies:

Retention and your choices

Friend details and preferences remain in app data until you remove them, clear that data using the platform's controls, or uninstall the app. Ongoing game records follow the retention period above. Relay-queued friend-control and notification messages are acknowledged, expire within 72 hours, or may be removed earlier under the server's capacity policy. The relay retains a registered push token until it is updated, unregistered, or removed by the provider or server. Sentry and Microsoft Clarity retain information under their service and account settings.

You can decline or remove a friend request in the app, remove a friend, turn off notifications in your device settings, and disable Clarity analytics in the app's Settings. You can also avoid using the internet relay by playing locally when the other players are nearby.

Children's privacy

Nearby Games does not ask users to provide their age or create an account. Parents and guardians should supervise children's use of multiplayer, friend, and chat features and help them choose a non-identifying display name. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us so we can review the request.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app or its data practices change. The effective date above shows when this version was prepared. The current policy is available at www.neurixm.com/nearbygames/privacy-policy.html.
